Hi, I'm Jamie...
I’m an accredited therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling. If you’re feeling isolated, rejected, hurt, or sad—or if you come from a marginalised community or feel like you don’t quite fit in—counselling can offer a safe, calm space to talk. I’ll support you with empathy and without judgement as you explore difficult thoughts and emotions.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand what it’s like to feel different from what society calls ‘normal.’ I believe our differences make us unique and beautiful, and I work from a place of acceptance and respect.
My own experiences have shown me how vital it is to have a secure space to process trauma and difficult emotions. It’s a privilege to support clients on their healing journeys. I’m passionate about helping people heal from childhood trauma, build confidence, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others.
My Professional Background
I've had a variety of careers and roles throughout the years, but they've always involved helping other people. My journey started when I decided to begin on a path of self-discovery on a counselling course in Manchester way back in 2010.
Years later, I moved to Leeds after working abroad for a while and attended Leeds City College to work towards my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I saw my first client in 2019, and I qualified in 2021 and continued my education at Leeds Beckett University to study different modalities and complete my BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling in 2023.
Training in a fantastic organisation offering generic counselling has enabled me to combine my work, ongoing training, expertise, and knowledge of a wide range of areas, in which I feel privileged to be in a position to help and support all of my clients.
Additionally, I have joined the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as a registered member, adhering to the organisation's ethical and professional standards. Furthermore, I also achieved my professional accreditation (PNCPS Acc.) with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), of which I have elevated levels of skills, experience, and growth in the fields of counselling and psychotherapy.
I currently support individuals and couples in the UK and EU full-time in my private practice, including various LGBTQIA++ organisations, private health insurance providers and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), in addition to counselling students at the University of Salford. At some point in the future, I plan to complete a master's degree!
