Hi, I'm Jamie...
I’m an accredited therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling. If you’re feeling isolated, rejected, hurt, or sad—or if you come from a marginalised community or feel like you don’t quite fit in—counselling can offer a safe, calm space to talk. I’ll support you with empathy and without judgement as you explore difficult thoughts and emotions.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand what it’s like to feel different from what society calls ‘normal.’ I believe our differences make us unique and beautiful, and I work from a place of acceptance and respect.
My own experiences have shown me how vital it is to have a secure space to process trauma and difficult emotions. It’s a privilege to support clients on their healing journeys. I’m passionate about helping people heal from childhood trauma, build confidence, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others.
My Professional Background
I have had a varied career, but my work has always centred on supporting and helping others. My counselling journey began in 2010, when I embarked on a path of self-discovery through a counselling course in Manchester.
After spending time working abroad, I relocated to Leeds and trained at Leeds City College, where I completed my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I began seeing clients in 2019, qualified in 2021, and continued my professional development at Leeds Beckett University, completing a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling in 2023. During this time, I trained in a range of therapeutic modalities, further developing both my clinical skills and theoretical understanding.
Training within a highly regarded organisation offering generic counselling has enabled me to integrate my education, experience, and expertise across a wide range of presenting issues. I offer a safe, thoughtful, and compassionate therapeutic space and feel privileged to support clients through their individual journeys.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in accordance with its ethical framework and professional standards. I also hold professional accreditation with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (PNCPS Acc.), reflecting advanced levels of training, experience, and ongoing professional development within counselling and psychotherapy.
I currently work full-time in private practice, supporting individuals and couples across the UK and EU. My work includes collaborations with LGBTQIA+ organisations, private health insurance providers such as Bupa, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), and the provision of counselling support to students at the University of Salford.
I remain committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. I am currently completing an online course in Compassion Focused Therapy and plan to undertake a master’s degree in the future to further deepen my clinical practice.
