Sometimes as adults, we tend to put off getting any kind of emotional support because we think we're expected to be strong, self-reliant, and take charge of our lives.
Perhaps, you've been taught to not feel your emotions, which has resulted in outbursts of anger, numbness, or physical symptoms of shaking, heart racing and headaches.
Are you self medicating with prescriptive drugs or using other substances as an attempt to avoid painful feelings.
When life gets difficult, inevitably, these beliefs will have an impact on your emotional wellbeing and relationships, increasing the pressure of dealing with your emotions and physical symptoms with little to no support from others.
As your counsellor, I will softly listen to your needs and empower you to find your own answers. I will validate your feelings as an individual or as a couple.
All sessions are confidential and within the guidelines of the B.A.C.P Ethical Framework.
Like many people, I have had varied jobs and roles over the years but they all had one thing in common, helping others. In 2010 I decided to go on a journey of self-discovery on a counselling course in the centre of Manchester, where my journey of person centred therapy began.
After working overseas for some time, I moved to Leeds and graduated as a Person-Centred Therapist. I have been blessed to be a part of a fantastic organisation that offers generic counselling in which I have experience and knowledge in many different issues, as well as my private work and ongoing training.
I have also been trained in Couples Counselling where I empower couples to have a deeper understanding of what's troubling their relationships and to have better communication. I also became an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (B.A.C.P) where I work within professional standards and ethical guidelines.
