Adults of Childhood trauma

Childhood should be a time of security, being protected and loved. However, suppose these needs were not met. In that case, it can have a detrimental impact on your wellbeing and relationships as an adult. Maybe you were raised in a chaotic household, exposed to violence or addiction. Or, perhaps you didn't feel equal to other family members, were treated with indifference or wholly ignored.

When emotional needs are neglected from a young age or parental love is inconsistent, unconsciously, you may seek partners to fill those needs or attract relationships with partners who confirm the negative messages you received as a child.

As a Therapist, I will sensitively listen to your childhood experiences and validate your feelings in a space you feel protected, as an individual or couple.

My Professional Background

Like many people, I have had varied jobs and roles over the years but they all had one thing in common, helping others. In 2010 I decided to go on a journey of self-discovery on a counselling course in the centre of Manchester, where my journey of person centred therapy began.

After working overseas for some time, I moved to Leeds and graduated as a Person-Centred Therapist. I have been blessed to be a part of a fantastic organisation that offers generic counselling in which I have experience and knowledge in many different issues, as well as my private work and ongoing training.

 I have also been trained in Couples Counselling where I empower couples to have a deeper understanding of what's troubling their relationships and to have better communication. I also became an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (B.A.C.P) where I work within professional standards and ethical guidelines.
